Project Summary

The Thai church is slowly growing but is still very small. In central and south Thailand, there has only been sustained Christian activity for the past 50 years. Yet despite its youthfulness, the church is planting new congregations in different regions, and there is a strong desire for discipleship and leadership training. Young pastors are keen to plant churches and greatly value the opportunity to learn how to handle and teach the Bible to their congregations. The Chiang Mai seminar on biblical preaching is designed to meet this need and resource Christian workers in these demanding locations. Several of the Thai participants from past seminars are working in village communities and amongst tribal groups. Through this seminar, the opportunity exists to strengthen the young but growing churches of Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar. The total cost of this project includes on-site training and materials costs ($2,500), facilitators’ travel costs ($3,000), and books for attendees ($500).
