Writer's Grant: Ephesians Commentary by Idicheria Ninan
India | Asia
Scholar Idicheria Ninan
Project Summary
The message of Ephesians is very relevant to South Asia, with its mystical traditions, great social diversity and conflicts, and powerful religions and ethical codes. To make this message heard requires the voice of an Asian scholar who can relate Paul’s teaching on the indwelling of Christ and the Spirit to mysticism, bhakthi and yoga, and Paul’s teaching on ethics to ideas of dharma and satyagraha.
Idicheria Ninan is a noted Indian scholar and writer. His goal is to interpret the message of Ephesians, so that it is heard fresh, as the first readers would have heard it, but in the Indian context and with an Indian voice.
His proposed commentary will be ready for publishing by May 2010. By sponsoring you will participate in reaching thousands of church leaders who will be better equipped to convey the truth of New Testament within South Asia's diverse cultures.
Total project cost: $3,500
